Family and Youth

Non-Certified courses for families and youth delivered by our professional, experienced and certified trainers.

Family First Aid

This safety & prevention seminar is specially designed for parents and care-givers of infants and children. Content includes how to recognize and respond to common childhood emergencies, such as choking, allergic reactions and minor burns & wounds.  The workshop also includes important information regarding seizures, poisons, drowning and Shaken Baby Syndrome.

The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. Thisupdated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.

Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges. The Stay Safe! program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations.

Physical Activity Notice

At 3Silhouettes First Aid we are committed to upholding the health and safety of participants in all our courses with a lens on accessibility for all. For most people the physical activity involved in a First Aid/CPR course should not pose a health threat. However, there are a small number of people who may find the physical activities in the course strenuous. Training involves activities such as sitting for long periods, some standing and bending and compressions on a manikin positioned on a chair. If you are unsure if you should participate in any aspect of the course involving physical activity, or have any of the health conditions listed below, we recommend that you do not register for a course with us until you have consulted with your family physician and have received medical clearance to participate.
